How to Transfer Any Image Using the Grid Method

How to Draw a Dog - The Grid Method Explained at Learn-to-Draw-Lessons.com

Here’s a lesson on how to use the classic grid method to create a drawing from a photograph, or anything else. This demonstration, at Learn to Draw Lessons, is specifically about drawing a dog with charcoal, but the principals are the same for any image and any media. Use the grid method and you can set up a canvas underpainting for working over with oils or acrylics. Or, use it to make a light pencil sketch layout for a watercolor painting.
